Services to Individuals:
Individuals who want to explore and pursue career and training
opportunities use the one-stop system. Customers can identify labor markets
and determine qualifications for jobs. Individuals entering a career center
can receive assistance in creating and entering their resume, learning about
job openings, conducting a job search using career center resources,
registering for a new job training or educational program, or registering for
unemployment services.
Services to the Employer:
Employers may use the services of these centers for new employee referrals,
occupational skill interviewing and testing, learning about financial
incentives for hiring new workers, or simply access potential employees
registered at career centers via the Internet. For employers, having these
resources together makes it easier for a business to get the word out that it
needs employees. The system also helps employers tap into job training
resources and other programs to help in job creation, providing information
on the opportunities available to receive certain tax incentives and other
programs for hiring people from unemployment and welfare rolls, as well as
employing individuals with disabilities.
